The Mussel Club - I Am Not Ok - Sunderland City Hall
Mental Health has become a pandemic in itself. Since COVID changed our lives, more people are suffering from anxiety, more people people are suffering from stress, more people are suicidal, and more people are killing themselves. The NHS is already struggling with the amount of mental health referrals and pushed to it’s limits in all departments. So, what if the onus was put on businesses to provide mental health awareness and mental health first aiders to offer advice and guidance if they are feeling unwell?
The #iamnotok campaign has been built around a petition to have mental health first made a legal requirement in the workplace in the same way physical first aiders are. If, legally, you have to have someone able to stop a bleed or treat a sprain in work before help arrives, why isn’t it a legal requirement to spot the signs of mental ill health in your staff and colleagues?
Working in partnership with Jamie Pell from AM Recruitment, you can join us at Sunderland’s stunning venue, City Hall, to hear guest speakers talk about their experiences of mental ill health and the importance of employing mental health first aiders in work. You will have the opportunity to network at the event as well as visit the exhibiting businesses to explore the vast array of mental health services available to your company to help tackle this ever-growing problem.
