Perhaps the World’s largest whisky festival dedicated to specialist Independent bottlers is coming to the North East on 10th September and incredibly there are still tickets available.

 

Some of the finest whiskies this planet has to offer will be available to try and buy here for just one day at the festival with the venue being Tyne Bank Brewery in Newcastle. By their very nature most Indy bottlers offer bottles that will be single cask or small batch often at cask strength and usually difficult to get hold of. Some of the most sought after bottlers are coming such as Cadenhead’s, Murray McDavid, Lady of the Glen, Whisky Broker, Artful Dodger, Vintage Malts, Heroes & Heretics, Little Brown Dog, Wemyss and so many more including local distillery sponsor The Lakes.

 

The local organiser, Karl Glenn had this to say, “Whether you love whisky or simply would like to try something a bit special this is going to be a memorable day, it’s not often many of these bottlers even participate in festivals let alone a first event and here in the North East. This is a big thing, whisky has hit the headlines so much lately whether its how much its booming to the latest auction record for a bottle and getting into whisky is easier than ever. Getting your hands on or trying some outstanding rare whisky does not have to cost the earth either as Indys offer great value. Usually an event like this sells out however I think travel issues has meant there are still a few tickets left if you would like to join us.”
